I listened one time to the voice of emptiness.

I listened one time to the voice of emptiness:

When you draw the curtains to open up the morning,
and find only mist, remember that I am there.

If you find yourself set down in a flat desert,
where nothing grows, and nothing happens,
smile, for I am always with you.

Yesterday you found satisfaction in the meal
packed down heavily inside you;
today celebrate equal satisfaction with me
in the hollowness of your stomach.

Be like the monk who leaves the monastery for a time –
he has no possessions, he has no place of his own,
only in me does he find his true home.

When you wait by the source of all, expecting to receive,
but nothing comes,
then consider yourself truly blessed,
for you have found me.
