Turning a peculiar blue

I thank you for the bluebell wood you took me to again
We left the footpath
and in the corner of the field
we found the hole in the hedge
and crawled through

I thank you for the shaded space you took me to again
From bright sunlight and green fields
we entered into a place of shadow,
hedge beside us, foliage above
tree trunks and bird song close by

I thank you for the dappled light you took me to again
we found ourselves among
the peculiar blue of bluebells
stretching through this patch of wood:
I sat in silence while you stood

I thank you for the bluebell wood you brought me to again
I did nothing
they entered into me
my mind turned a peculiar blue
there was nothing I had to do

I thank you for all you shared on a sunny day in May
We left the bluebell wood,
we walked home across the fields;
the bluebells would stay
but now I knew the way

I thank you for this place of love you bring me to each day
